Easy Ginisang Sardinas Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 small cans sardines in tomato sauce

  • 1 medium ripe tomato, chopped

  • 2 tsp lemon or calamansi juice

  • 1 medium red onion, sliced lengthwise

  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 2 pcs siling labuyo (optional)

  • 1 tbsp flat leaf parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • 1 tsp fish sauce or salt

  • ½ tsp ground black pepper

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Pour and heat the cooking oil in a pan.

  2. When the oil is hot enough, sauté the garlic and onion.

  3. When the onion becomes soft, add- in the tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes.

  4. Pour- in the sardines in tomato sauce and the chilis.

  5. Stir and let it boil.

  6. Cook for 5 minutes in low to medium heat (add a little water if needed).

  7. Add- in the lemon juice, ground black pepper, and salt or fish sauce.

  8. Stir and cook for 1 more minute.

  9. Turn off heat and then transfer to a serving bowl.

  10. Garnish with chopped flat leaf parsley. Enjoy!
